Driving through a community to see all of the holiday decorations and brightly lit homes is a holiday tradition so many of us look forward to each year. To help make certain that Fort Belvoir shines it's very brightest this holiday season, The Villages at Belvoir is hosting a Merry & Bright Holiday Decorating Contest with 3 winners selected in each of our 15 Villages!

• First place winners will each receive a $100 gift card

• Second place winners will each receive a $50 gift card

• Third place winners will each receive a $25 gift card

HOW IT WORKS

Simply join in on the fun by decorating your home for all to enjoy and you could snag a prize! We're looking for home exteriors decorated in unique, fun and creative ways. All entries must include lights/illumination as judging will be done at dusk/evening.

Judging will take place between 12 and 20 December, so please be certain that your lights and decorations are up and on for all to see starting on the 12th. The Fort Belvoir Mayors have graciously agreed to be our guest judges for this contest with each Mayor judging a Village other than the one they represent.

Winners will be announced on 22 December on our Facebook page, on the ActiveBuilding community bulletin board and via email.

If you haven't put your decorations up yet, you have until before dark on Monday, 12 December to get them up and glowing before judging starts - We can't wait to see Fort Belvoir shine Merry & Bright this holiday season!

P.S. Please be certain that all decorations are in good taste and family-oriented. For your and everyone else's safety, be certain to not cover/interfere with any fire safety equipment or walkways and to not cover the street lights lining the road with any plastic bags, cardboard, etc., as this creates a safety hazard and reduces visibility.
